This is a joint initiative of the DLF Foundation and MCG to introduce technology and science based learning and training at the school level. This project is being implemented in partnership with the India Stem Foundation. The introduction to Robotics training at an early stage in life will ensure that students, who do not have an academic bent of mind, are trained and skilled in specialised trades to enhance their income earning potential.
Lt General (Retd.) Rajender Singh, CEO, DLF Foundation said that the establishment of the DLF Robotics Skill Centres is a step towards making children the Innovators of tomorrow. “A robotics lab is being setup where children are taught the concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) using Robotics,” he said, adding, “Robotics and hands-on learning solutions help students bridge the gap between key theoretical concepts and their real world applications; this concept is being used globally by leading educational institutions such as Carnegie Mellon, MIT and Tufts.
The DLF Robotics Skill Centres is an endeavour towards facilitating, learning in the area of science and mathematics on robotic platform in every school. Such Centres will create an opportunity amongst the deprived and underprivileged children to access fun centric learning experience beyond the traditional four walls and have hands-on learning experience to face the challenges of daily life.
The DLF Robotics Skill Centres will impart training to over 20,000 students at the Government schools of Dundahera, Carterpuri, Sarhaul, Wazirabad, Nathupur, Chakkarpur and Gurgaon village in the district of Gurgaon.
Robotic skills help students to explore their imagination and creativity, along with a sense of logic to perform various tasks. This kind of expertise will aid in the overall development of the children, enhancing their confidence and equipping them with new futuristic skills.
