Taking a step forward in its contribution for the welfare of underprivileged children, DLF Foundation organized Scholars’ Conclave at Ridge Valley School, DLF Phase IV, Gurgaon. The event celebrated the scholarly achievements of the underprivileged children in the gracious presence of their teachers, mentors and parents. Held under the aegis of its flagship initiative Talent Nurturing Program, the event celebrated the high achievers in the urban and rural category. Approximately 25 students were awarded cash vouchers worth Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 for achieving academic excellence.

The conclave opened with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Professor Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor, Delhi Technological University and Director and Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and Guest of Honour Mr Pawan Jindal, Chairman, Jindal MECTEC Pvt Ltd.

Commending the efforts of scholars, Professor Yogesh Singh said, “I extend my heartiest wishes to these students for achieving academic excellence. They have shown that talent and hard work knows no distinctions. I also appreciate DLF Foundation for their untiring efforts in uplifting these children.”

In his inaugural address, PK Joseph, Director, DLF Foundation said, “Our Talent Nurturing Program aims to support the education and the holistic development of underprivileged students through soft skills training, mentoring, coaching, career guidance, performance tracking and remedial measures for a successful career. Our focus is to make them the leaders of tomorrow by helping them fulfill their career aspirations.

Young achievers recounted their experiences as they were felicitated for academic excellence. Apeksha, one of the achievers, who scored a CGPA of 9.8 in the Class 10 examination said, “DLF Foundation has consistently supported me throughout my journey and helped me gain confidence. The various programmes organized by DLF Foundation in our school have helped in honing my talent.”

The evening was marked by enthralling cultural performances by young scholars brimming with enthusiasm. The highlight of the event was Bodhi Sutra Dance performed by students of Jhankar Senior Secondary School.

The event concluded with the proposed vote of thanks by Meenakshi Singh, Head Special Projects, DLF Foundation, followed by dinner.

Held annually, the Scholars Conclave aims to provide a platform for the scholars to manifest their multi-faceted talents, award the high achievers and give them the much needed motivation, inspiration and encouragement and thereby help them move towards their career aspirations.

‘Talent Nurturing Programme’, a flagship project of DLF Foundation, aims to give access to quality education to over 1045 bright and talented underprivileged students selected based on their merit and income, primarily from Gurgaon. DLF Foundation also provides them with the much needed coaching, counselling, mentoring and soft skills training and awards the high achievers. The ultimate aim is to transform, particularly, the girl students and groom them as new generation leaders by honing their intellect and social/soft skills in multi-dimensional ways.
