DIVYA KALA MELA, taking place in Dehradun

Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) (DEPWD), MSJ&E, Gol is organizing a unique event showcasing the products and craftsmanship of Divyang entrepreneurs/artisans from across the country. ‘Divya Kala Mela’ from 21^st February 2026 to 1^st March 2026  at Dehradun.

1. National Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC), an apex corporation under DEPwD is the nodal agency for organising Divya Kala Mela. The event would present an enthralling experience to the visitors as vibrant products from various parts of the country, handicrafts, handlooms, embroidery works and packaged food etc. will be seen together.
2. The 29 Divya Kala Mela’s (DKM) organized by DEPwD in last 3 years across India played a significant role in showcasing cultural diversity, promoting local economies, and fostering community engagement across India. Divya Kala Melas (DKM) helped empower Divyangjan by creating market opportunities. These 29 DKMs resulted in total business of over Rs. 23 Crore for PwD artisans.
3. The DKMs also helped to sensitize the visitors about the disability issues through experience zones, disability sports, art and exhibit etc. DKM infant is a programme showcasing abilities of the Divyangjan artisans/artists/entrepreneurs.
4. Around 100 Divyang artisans/artists and entrepreneurs from about 20 states/UTs will be showcasing their products and skills. There would be Products in the following broad category: Home Décor & Lifestyle, Clothing, Stationery and eco-friendly products, packaged food and organic products, Toys & Gifts, Personal Accessories Jewellery, Clutch Bags. It will be an opportunity for all to go vocal for local’ and products made by Divyang craftsmen with their extra determination can be seen/purchased.
5. The 09 Days ‘Divya Kala Mela’, Dehradun will be open from 11.00 A.M. to 09.00 P.M. and witness a series of cultural activities, including performances by Divyang artists and well- known professionals alongside. Visitors can also enjoy their favourite foods from various regions of the country at the event. A special cultural program titled “Divya Kala Shakti” will be presented at this fair on 1^st March 2026 , by Divyang artists from various parts of the country.
6. The event is scheduled to be inaugurated on 22^nd February 2026 at 12:00M. by the Honourable Governor of Uttarakhand and Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, GOI  and Various other dignitaries will also grace the occasion.
7. A special Job Fair for Divyangjan will be organised on 26^th February 2026.
8. Department has grandiose vision to promote the concept of Divya Kala Mela, as part of which these are organized across country. The DKM will also showcase experience zones for different disabilities, startups for Divyangjan, new aids & appliances etc. making it a vibrant event for Divyangjan.
